The family will greet friends for a time to celebrate Rosemary’s life in the parish hall where a meal will be provided immediately following the mass and burial. She was preceded in death by: 6 brothers: Hubert Metzger, Carl Metzger, Leo Metzger, John Metzger, Fr. Also surviving are Carl’s brothers and sister and their families. Celine (Agnes) Metzger, HM of Villa Maria, PA, Loretta Paskert of Brooklyn, OH 3 sisters-in-law: Louann Metzger of Shelby, Pat Metzger of CA, Alice Metzger of Shelby. Also surviving are 5 children: Rosanne (Bob) Conley of Crestline, Chuck (Cindy) Keller of Shelby, Cathy (Dave) LeMond of Senecaville, OH, Russ (Marti) Keller of Crestline, Christopher “Herm” (Karla) Keller of Crestline 15 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren 2 step grandsons 2 step great grandchildren 2 brothers: Joe (Lynne) Metzger of Marion, Jim (Janice) Metzger of Chardon 3 sisters: Lucy (Mark) Rietschlin of Shelby, Sr. Keller with whom she recently celebrated 65 years of marriage and he survives. On August 14, 1948, Rosemary married Carl F. Above all else, to her family she was a true role model and was much respected as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an excellent cook and pie maker, a trait she passed along to her daughters and daughters-in-law. She enjoyed playing cards (especially pinochle), tending to her gardens and flowers, and canning. Family gatherings filled her with joy and happiness. Rosemary loved to laugh and cherished time spent with her husband and family. A lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem, she was active in all aspects of parish life including but not limited to: the Altar and Rosary Society, an original member of the Flower Committee keeping the altars and church beautifully decorated, a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Festival Committee, and was very instrumental in the restoration of church. To Rosemary, God and her church were first. Rosemary then worked at Pioneer Joint Vocational School, for the Department of Urban Renewal in the City of Crestline, and, along with her husband, Carl, owned and operated Keller’s Kork and Kap in Crestline. As a loving mother, she spent the first 20 years of her married life at home with her children. She was a graduate of Villa Maria Academy in Villa Maria, PA. Rosemary was born in Shelby on May 11, 1926, the daughter of the late Clement and Mae (Sutter) Metzger. Rosemary Joan Keller, age 87, a lifelong Shelby Settlement resident, died Monday evening, Octoat her home.
